The Samsung Galaxy Series: A World Class Innovation - Technology - Communication

The Samsung Galaxy Series is a family of handsets or mobile devices powered by Google's popular Android operating system. The birth of Android phones marked the beginning of the ongoing handset competition among the big mobile companies while going up against Apple's iPhone series at the same time.

Samsung released the first android phones, and it is known as the Galaxy Si9000 in March 2010. It did not take long for this smartphone to gain a great reputation in the American and European markets. Although the Galaxy S was a huge success, it still failed to hold other big markets outside Europe and the United States due to its high-price command. In response to this, the Korean giant soon developed other innovations that now comprised the celebrated Samsung Galaxy Series.

Now it is time to meet the most prominent members of the Galaxy family.

1. Galaxy S i9000 - the progenitor of all the Samsung Galaxy devices out in the market today. Aside from having the Android 2.2 OS, it also has a super AMOLED capacitive touch screen.2. Galaxy 3and Galaxy Ace - they are more or less like the Galaxy S when it comes to features, but they are designed to be more economical than their predecessor.3. Samsung Nexus S - the first handset implementation of the Android 2.3 gingerbread OS.4. Galaxy S II - as the successor of Galaxy S, it has the Android 2.3 gingerbread OS like the Nexus and is proudly one of the slimmest smartphones out in the market.

As one of the leading brands in mobile technology, Samsung did not limit the Galaxy Series to Android phones only. They soon launched a set of Galaxy tablets to with the leading Apple iPad. A Galaxy tablet is a replica of a personal computer in the form of a slab. It offers the functions of a laptop but with greater portability. It is like a notebook, mobile broadband and smartphone in one convenient package. This device allows a user to have a better experience for work, play and communication. The Galaxy tablets, named according to their screen size, are as follows:
