Why Create Android Apps? - to Make Money

Android App Development is going big this 2011. This mobile Operating System which was bought by Google in 2005 will definitely grow stronger this coming years. The first Android smartphone was the HTC Dream / G1 back in 2008. T-mobile adopted it and it was more known as T-mobile G1. Different opinions were given to the smartphone and many were not satisfied; however, the dissatisfaction was mostly because of the design of the phone and the Android Operating System proved itself to be a qualified competitor against other mobile OS.

Today, there are many different smartphone powered by Android Operating System including Samsung Galaxy S which was said to be an iPhone killer. With all of these things going on in Smartphone business, from the perspective of a tech enthusiast, I believe that this year is the best year to build Android Applications or in other words to become an Android App Developer.

Why Develop Android Apps?

By far, this mobile OS is the fastest growing operating system for smartphones. The first Android phone was introduced last 2008. Last year, in its second quester, the Android OS already took the lead in smartphone sales. This means that in coming years, more people will be using Android powered smartphone than iPhone and Blackberry.

Another reason why you should choose the Google OS as a platform is because it is still in its infancy. If you will start a career, I believe it is best to choose a career path with a high potential of income and at the same time with low competition. This is exactly what developers of Android App have for today. Nowadays, most smartphone app developers are focused on iPhone and Blackberry. There are still few people who are making Android Apps. According to Bloomberg Businessweek, Mobile Application Sales will reach $35 Billion by 2014. If this is true and at the same time, Android OS is overtaking other mobile OS, I believe it makes sense to be an Android App Developer.

The Big How?

To have a career in this line sounds great. Many people today are profiting by simply making mobile applications. Some are just doing it for a hobby and they earn some cash from their hobby. They have an idea and then, they make their idea into reality. Some other people liked the idea and they buy it. It really sounds simple. Yet, in the case of Android Application, you need to know Java programming language. And even though you are familiar with the programming language, there are some codes that work specifically for the Android OS. Because of this, you need a guide to kick off your career in creating Android applications. In this, you need MIPP System for Android. In this system, you will have a step by step learning system on how to develop Android Apps (interface design, functions, etc). Not only that, the system will also tell you how to market or sell the application that you created. If you want to start in creating Android Apps, check out the MIPP System.

Android Tablets vs. iPad

Android Tablets vs. iPad - this may well become the big tech debate of 2011. I will break down the differences for you and tell you what side I am on! There are several key differences between the two devices -

Operating System

Obviously, one of the largest differences between the two systems is the operating system. Android tablets are running on some version of the Android OS from Google, while Apple's iPad is running on Apple's iOS. Both are the same basic OS that runs on the companies' respective smart phones.

To me, this is just a matter of preference. These days, many developers prefer Android over iOS, as it is much easier to get a new app into Android's app market. However, every Android tablet (and phone) may run on a different version of the software, which can make it a bit unsettling for users, as some apps may work only on a newer version of Android, which every tablet may not get.

The companies that develop the tablets decide when to push an update of the Android software to each type of device, so one type might get an update, while others may wait for months, or never get an update at all.

As far as I am concerned, there is no clear winner in this arena. If you get a chance, try each one and see which operating system you like best. Personally, I am a bigger fan of Android.

Screen Size

Having a big screen can be a plus or a minus depending on what you plan to use it for, and especially on how you plan to carry a tablet around. For example, I purchased the Samsung Galaxy Tab, considered one of the best Android tablets currently on the market, and a big selling point for me ws the screen was actually much smaller than the iPad.

The iPad screen is over 10 inches, making almost as big as some small laptops. That can be great if you plan to carry it in a backpack all the time and want to watch videos on it, but it does make it harder to carry around. For me, the Galaxy Tab made more sense because I don't carry a backpack and like to bring it to meetings.

So, again, no clear winner here. You may want to decide first whether you want a wireless device that is portable or if you want the biggest screen possible. One caveat here, however - soon there will likely be tablets running Android on the market that have screens the size of the iPad.

Apps

You can have a discussion about Android tablets vs. iPad without talking about apps. Apps make or break the tablet in my opinion. Having used both operating systems extensively, I will say that, although the iPad certainly has more apps than Android, I have not been disappointed with Android and can find just about an kind of app I can think of. In addition, almost every company that makes an iPad app makes an Android app as well.

In fact, in my estimation, given that Android sales are now surpassing iPhone, and the fact I mentioned above - that it is easier to develop apps and get in the Android market, I would not be surprised to see Android catch up the Apple in the future when it comes to apps.

Cost

It seems that even the best Android tablets are cheaper overall, and you can find some good, cheap Android tablets out there. Both have data plans, and you can't do much without a data plan on a tablet unless you stay in a wifi zone, so you will likely end up paying about the same there.

However, when it comes to the cost the device itself, Android wins.

This argument will rage on during 2011, but when it comes to Android Tablets vs. the iPad, I am all for Android!

Android Tablets VS iPad

It is just a battle between iOS and Android which fight has changed tremendously from Smartphones one the market to Tablets. Approach Analytics, a general market trends company, reports which on quarter 4 of 2010, Android Tablets sold on the market has tremendously increased to 22% in the market share. This increase on the market share in Q4 is often a tenfold increase as compared with that of Q3 in the same year.

The Samsung Universe Tablet contributed into the large jump on the market share for the final quarter of recently. Apple iPad distributed around 7. several million iPad products in Q4 regarding 2010. On another hand, Android Tablets accounted for 75% in the shipments made global. The strong great deals of Android Tablets is seen as continuously emerging despite the fact that Honeycomb or Google android 3. 0 haven't yet been released in the tablet market. Google android 3. 0 is expected to rise as the principle competitor of Apple mackintosh iPad once this can be made available into the public. As that battle continues, Apple iPad is actually scheduled to relieve Apple iPad 2 this holiday season. For now, i want to try to know why customers would rather buy Android Drugs over Apple iPad.

iPad offers amazing graphics, distinct videos, touch tv screen sensitivity, 3G connectivity, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, twelve hours battery living, games and other applications that may be installed in this specific unit. An Google android Tablet, on another hand, has an amenable source for Main system. This means end users can still improve to the applications and coding. You will discover more games in addition to applications developed by using Android Tablet. There are GPS, 3G in addition to allows users to read e-books. This also has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth very much alike iPad. Android Tablet carries a camera and adobe flash support while iPad won't have this attribute. You can do multi-tasking simillar to iPad which is relatively cheaper with regard to cost.

As for any disadvantages of the 2 main products, iPad won't have a digital camera and lacks USB port. It does not support flash. Moreover, YouTube, CBS and Huku are reportedly that they are problematic with iPad. No have GPS very. For Android Product, its battery life is not the same as that of a good iPad.

What Apple iPad won't have right right now, it may have in the near future especially with iPad a couple of coming out on the market soon. The same fits Android Tablets. This can be seen as a good unending battle between the 2 main. What these not one but two are undergoing right now is related to how it was before in the cellular phone market. As one as well as two features become basic, additional and much more sophisticated features tend to be incorporated in mobile phones. The Tablet market is no more advanced than this.

The comparison regarding Android tablets in addition to iPad needs someone to have a clear insight in to the various aspects of both the devices. While that Android Tablet is actually fully supported through Google, iPad loves the support regarding Apple Inc. Both company providing same task with the several features and excellent, and all know these two will be the world's best organization, but difficult to view best from together but here you can compare both devices in the user experience, review and behavior in the device. Some in the prime grounds regarding comparison are since follows.

Size in the Device Screen:
The view in the application and finally its utility depends into a great extent to the screen size in the device. The screen size in the iPad is around 10 inches so much that at times it could be compared to that mini laptop. It could be one of the best devices for watching a movie as long as you're traveling. On another hand the Android devices have got a screen size considerably smaller than which of iPad which usually fits your own palm. Finally it really is the portability in addition to utility that influences the marketplace share of which product. The Android phones are more portable and own higher utility component. Finally it depends upon the buyer, whether he/she needs a smallish screen or much larger screen and the purpose of having the system.

Operating System:
Access the Android app market is less of a challenge than that for any Apple app market. This is usually because of the difference in the main system. The version in the software on every Android tablet is not similar. An Android application may are very effective on one Google android tablet but won't work on another. This could mainly be because of the difference in the version and also the updating required. The updating may very well be at times instantaneous and at times take prolonged moment duration.

Applications:
Usually the majority find the Android main system to be simpler and compatible approach iOperating System (iOS) a program of Apple Inc. The comparison among Android Tablets in addition to iPad is incomplete without the mention of programs. The Android programs are much more with regards to the iPad programs. The major reason will be the open system in the Android. The Android for open source loves larger support in the developer's community. More the programs available more tend to be features added on to the device. The user carries a larger range regarding Android applications to choose from. With reference to application the Android Tablet appears to be far ahead regarding iPad.

Costing:
Cost belongs to the factors that have a very big impact to the popularity and great deals of any system. The Android use, having been produced on open system, is much cheaper approach iPod application. The fee for registering for Android application developer is higher than that regarding iPad. Both that devices have data plans. The data plan on any tablet is actually indispensable.

Laptop users and cell Phoneusers have identified their need for tablets. The tablet market is relatively new which is still unsaturated so users must scrutinize between the 2 main to meet its tablet needs in addition to observe on who'll still lead that race.

White HTC EVO 3D to Be Landing at RadioShack

Back in the old days, when the original HTC EVO 4G released for Sprint, Best Buy released a surprise in the form of a white variant of the venerable titan. The color did well, especially when it was released at other Sprint dealers, and it offered an alternative to the arguably masculine dark grey and black. Now it seems as though RadioShack is looking to emulate big blue, as they’ve announced a white version of the new HTC EVO 3D. Set to be released next month (September for those not keeping track), RadioShack’s white EVO 3D goes a step beyond the white EVO 4G in that the entire body is white, as opposed to merely the rear housing and battery door. The black bezel around the screen is still black, however.  There’s no word as to how long it will remain exclusive to the Shack and no mention of price (expect the same $200, I would imagine), but these details tend to get ironed out as launch day approaches. So who’s looking to get one of these? Let us know in the comments and feel free to jump in after the break to see a larger image.

Be Smart and Buy a Top Lady Gaga Phone

What features are you looking for in a cell phone? When it comes time for a cell phone upgrade, this is a good thing for buyers to consider. In the beginning, people who purchased cell phones only needed them for making phone calls. As the cell phone revolved, people began wanting to take pictures, send text messages, listen to their music and access the Internet. By choosing a smart phone you can do all that plus more. In addition to making calls on your phone, you will now be able to play games, check the weather and a million other activities. You really need to decide what you want your phone to do for you, when choosing the right phone among the other top Android phones. Here are some of the highest rated Android phones available now.

The Acer BeTouch E110 is highly ranked among the Android phones. There are multiple Acer BeTouch phones available on the market. The E110 is a smart phone running with the Android 1.5 software set. The BeTouch E110 is not the latest in Acer's technology but it is good enough to do pretty much everything the other smart phones do. Acer has their own interface that assists users in operating their phones. This phone has a small touch screen powered by a 416 MHz processor. The touch screen is not even three inches large! The touch screen is less than three inches in size!

The T-Mobile Pulse Mini is a very popular Android phone. This phone is designed for the money conscious consumer who wants all the bells and whistles of an Android phone but does not want to pay an astronomical price. The size of the touch screen on this phone is less than three inches. It comes equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera and even an LED flash, which helps the photographer snap better photos. Android 2.1 software runs on this phone. This phone has a jack for a headphone, which makes it different than the standard Pulse phone. Android mobile polyphonic ringtones sound clear so we do recommend one modern like La dy Gaga Ringtone

T-Mobiles G2 Touch is the next phone after the G1, which was the first Android phone with Google. This model is an improvement in comparison to the former model, which had a slide out keyboard and weighed a lot. The keyboard is a thing of the past, due to the favoritism of a touch screen that challenges the iPhone. The camera has five megapixel capabilities and you are able to have an eight-hour conversation before the battery dies and needs to be re-charged. It is important to realize this model is based as much around the HTC Hero as it is on the G1, so if you are not crazy about T-Mobile, you can find a comparable model with another cell phone provider.

Deciding which cell phone to buy can pose a challenging task. The variety of options out there is vast! Once upon a time most people simply went for the free upgrades that were offered to them by their cell phone providers. Though, that was back when cell phones were only meant for m aking phone calls. Today cell phones are little computers capable of accessing the Internet, making phone calls, taking pictures and videos and so much more. The highly rated Android phones are among the best phones on the market.

10 iPhone & Android apps that changed the world

1 Angry Birds

You knew Stieg Larrson books had gone from cult concern to cultural phenomenon when you suddenly couldn't move for people them on the London Tube network. Over the last six months, it's people playing Angry Birds on their smartphones that have become impossible to avoid. From kids, to sober-suited business types, to OAPs, it seems like everyone is partial to Rovio's avenging avians.

And its ubiquity doesn't end there. The mass media have got on board, too. Both the Times and the Guardian have run high falutin' features looking at Angry Birds' unique appeal and it's now become de-rigeur for celebrities to proclaim their love. But Angry Birds is a landmark in apps for much more than the odd starry endorsement. Thanks to its simple, pick up and play mechanics, it took mobile phone gaming to the mass market as never before.

It was also the app whose leading characters made the move from a mobile game property to movie stars a reverse of the usual paradigm whereby movies spawn tie-in games. And they're coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii making Angry Birds the first true mobile game to make the transition to home consoles.

Perhaps the most significant sign of its import to the tech world, though, is that by ushering a new age of casual gaming, it's got the console giants running scared that consumers will abandon high-cost titles with high production values on their platforms in favour of cheap, easy-to-pick-up mobile games.

At the last count, Angry Birds has topped 100 million downloads across all platforms, raking in millions in revenue for Rovio. So perhaps the likes of Sony and Nintendo have every reason to be afraid.

2 Shazam

Now that music discovery apps are ten-a-penny, it's hard to imagine now just how ground-breaking Shazam felt when it first landed. Or how magical it felt when you first fired it up, stuck your smartphone next to the speaker and it identified that obscure Northern Soul track you loved for years but weren't sure was the work of Don Thomas.

The best thing about Shazam, though, is that it means you'll never again have to engage with Weatherall-style Moody DJs or poisonously rude record store snobs just to find out what it is they're playing. For that alone, it's changed the world for the better.

3 iBeer

This pint of beer/drinking sim was in essence nothing more than a sight gag. And a pretty one-dimensional one at that. But it's precisely its goofy nature that made it so significant, spawning a slew of imitators as people woke up to the fact that there was real money to be made from apps with little more than a simple idea and a smattering of coding nous.

By the time Apple named iBeer among the top-grossing apps of 2008 you couldn't move for copycat apps. And long after the joke stopped being funny, you still can't.

4 Google Translate

Apps that make the world seem smaller, more navigable and altogether more friendly place are rare indeed. But thanks to its real time voice translation smarts, Google Translate did exactly that.

The notion of the Universal Translator has been a meme of Science Fiction since the 1940s. But it always seemed fanciful even to the most rabid fanboy. Google have got a way to go before this app can handle extra-terrestrial languages. Even so, this is closer to our near-future fantasies than I ever thought we'd get.

5 I Am Rich

Priced $1,000 (599), this app made a vast diamond appear on your smartphone. Press an onscreen icon and it displayed the charming message: "I am rich I deserv [Toshiba pa3356u-3bas battery] it. I am good, healthy & successful." That was it. There was, as its maker conceded: "no hidden function at all".

Rather than an app I Am Rich was a work of art, the man behind it claimed. We're not sure about that. It certainly prompted wise heads in the tech press to debate the value and purpose of apps. But claiming it had real merit as art seems like rather a stretch to us.

However, looking back it does seem like pretty smart satire on the perceived kudos that owning an iPhone conferred on folk back then. Smart enough to rile Apple, that's for sure, who pulled I Am Rich from sale the day after it first went on sale. And not long after we saw capped charges for apps introduced.

6 Foursquare

The Foursquare app is tied to the first-ever social network created specifically with smartphones in mind the better to take advantage of their GPS functionality. It's also the first to introduce game dynamics to the realm of social networking, in so doing subtly altering how we perceive our surroundings forever.

7 Google Goggles

Visual search tool Google Goggles is a smart app indeed. There's little in the world of apps that impresses neophytes quite as much as the way it allows users to take pictures of say a building or landmark with their phone and seconds later get a slew of information about it.

But if there is something that is more likely to knock the tech novices for six and instill them with wonder at the modern world, it's the fact that this app in conjunction with Google Translate also allows you to take photos of menus printed in a foreign language and get one back with all the copy transmogrified into English.

Massively impressive as all that is, though, it's the potential of Google Googles that's just as much a factor in its inclusion here. Not least is among these is the search giant's plan to allow botanists to snap plants to help identify rare specimens. Plus, we've got some knockout augmented reality games to look forward to as well.

8 TomTom

TomTom wasn't the first app to turn your phone into a de facto sat nav. But it's probably the best, and thus is most responsible for rendering dedicated route-finders a bit obsolete.

When it dropped back in 2010 it had one major, not to mention killer, USP. All the maps you need are included in the app, so there's no need to download them via 3G. And by the same token, it also meant, unlike its rivals, you're able to avail yourself of TomTom's route-finding smarts in areas where there's no 3G signal to be had.

9 Spotify

In a recent, typically caustic piece in the Guardian Charlie Brooker recently dubbed iTunes a steaming binary turd'. It's not hard to see what he's getting at it. For a start, it's fugly and more closely resembles a productivity tool rather than a sexy music app. But the real black mark against the software is that Apple's synching system is so arcane and mysterious that it confounds the greatest minds of our generation.

The arrival of the Spotify app meant you can wash your hands of iTunes completely and use this app's clean and user-friendly desktop UI instead. Not only does it sync faster than iTunes, thanks to the ability to store playlists of stuff you've streamed to then play on the go, it's better for discovering new music too. For music fans, this is manna from heaven.

10 Infinity Blade

Apple product launches are the acme of ramped up marketing hype. So when Steve Jobs claimed to be "amazed" that this gorgeous first person, hack n' slash- action-RPG was running on the just-unveiled iPhone 4, you could be forgiven for assuming it was the famous Cupertino marketing machine in action rather than Jobs being genuinely astonished at what he was seeing.

Thing is: Infinity Blade genuinely does leave your belief beggared. The graphics really are as rich as anything consoles can offer. And thanks to the same Unreal Engine from the likes of Gears of War and Mass Effect, it's got a depth to its gameplay that marks it a landmark game for mobiles. What's more, it proves that mobile games need not be cheapy casual titles or time killers. They can be every bit as immersive as their more grown-up cousins.

AT&T Android phones that will now be able to sideload apps like Amazon's Appstore

The HTC Inspire, one of five AT&T Android phones that will now be able to sideload apps like Amazon's Appstore. After years of restrictions, AT&T will now allow Android smartphone customers to install applications downloaded outside the official Android Market.

The recently launched Samsung Infuse is the first of AT&T's phones capable of installing apps from outside sources, including unofficial app stores or web links, a process called sideloading.

Eventually after some software updates, all AT&T Android smartphones will be capable of sideloading, according to AT&T.

"Over the next few weeks, we will also roll out this capability to existing devices in our base for which an upgrade is possible," an AT&T spokesman said.

The HTC Inspire 4G, Samsung Captivate, HTC Aria and LG Thunder will receive the over-the-air upgrade. AT&T is also working on bringing this upgrade to the Motorola Atrix, although AT&T is waiting on a "future maintenance release" for the Atrix in order to upgrade the phone.

What AT&T isn't saying, however, is that you most likely have Amazon to thank for this.

On March 22, Amazon released its Appstore for Android phones in the form of a standalone app. Those who wanted to access the 3,800 Android applications including a new version of Angry Birds from Amazon's market were required to download the Amazon Appstore app from Amazon.com.

The problem was, AT&T's phones hp 484170-001 batterywouldn't let you do that. Users could only download apps available on the official Android Market, and because of Google's policy of not allowing competing app stores to exist within the Android Market.

AT&T customers unable to access Amazon's Appstore weren't happy, and took to the forums to express frustration.

"Every day, Amazon releases a new app for free,"one upset customer wrote on AT&T's own hosted message boards. "We continue to be left in the dark Why can't you just allow us to install 3rd party apps on our supposedly open' Android devices?"

On the same day as the Amazon Appstore announcement, however, AT&T changed its position. On March 22, AT&T told Wired.com, "We're working to give our Android customers access to third-party application stores." With the release of the Samsung Infuse this week, AT&T customers will finally have access to sideloaded apps.

Amazon confirmed to Wired.com that it had been in discussion with AT&T prior to the Amazon Appstore launch in March, and that Amazon is currently "working closely with AT&T to help make it as easy as possible for AT&T customers to have access to the Amazon Appstore for Android."

On other non-AT&T Android phones where sideloading is allowed, users must check a box in the application settings menu for the phone Symbol MC9090 battery"to allow installation of non-Market sources." After checking the box, a small disclaimer pops up, letting you know it's your fault if you download malware and screw up your phone. AT&T confirmed that a similar process will be available to the five listed AT&T phones in the coming weeks, as well as future AT&T Android phone releases.

According to an AT&T, the company wasn't allowing sideloading because of security issues. In an interview with AllThingsDigital, AT&T CTO John Donovan said that "although there was a vocal minority clamoring for such access," the vast majority of AT&T users prefer a secure phone more than one that can access any and every app out there.

"I'm a gigantic new services risk-taker," Donovan told AllThingsDigital. "I'm not at all a risk-taker as it relates to security and privacy."

A security researcher previously told Wired.com that allowing your phone to download apps from unofficial sources required some security compromises.

"As soon as you flip that switch and go away from the Android hp nc6400 batteryMarket, which is the one place where most people go, then you are putting yourself at some risk," security analyst Charlie Miller told Wired.com in a previous interview.

But with the release of Amazon's Appstore, AT&T seems to be more of a "risk taker" than CTO Donovan let on. Maybe the clout of a multinational online retailer can make a company loosen up a bit, even if it supposedly means being less secure.

The Secret of Why you should choose an Android phone or tablet ?

Google's mobile operating system has proven to be a big hit since it was launched back in 2008. However, there are a growing number of alternatives hitting the market, such as HP's WebOS and the BlackBerry Tablet OS. And let's not forget Apple's iOS. So why choose an Android device?

For starters, the operating system is hugely appealing to both handset manufacturers and software developers; the former because they can create their own skinned' version of Android, while the latter can get their apps onto the Android Market with the minimum of fuss. Anyone who wants to sell an app on iTunes needs to get it approved by Apple first. And because there's such a wide range of Android devices and apps, the operating system is proving a hit with consumers too.

Google Android: The Hardware

Back in 2008, Nokia declared that the smartphone was today's computer. While that claim may have stretched the imagination, even back then it wasn't a huge overstatement. Processing power is now up to 1GHz with the nVidia Tegra 2 chip, while quad-core processing, 3D video gaming and the ability to output a whole Blu-ray movie stored on a microSD card and show it on a vast silver screen are all mooted.

The Motorola Atrix handset has 16GB of internal memory and can take another 32GB via a microSD card. Remember when laptops first began touting gigabytes of storage? It's only about five years since dual-core computing arrived, yet smartphones already have dual- and even quad-core chips.

Features such as HD video-out and real-time 3D processing and output were showcased at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February.

While all this rich multimedia is staggeringly impressive, for the most part it's not the primary reason why you might choose a particular device in the first place. Most of us would sooner have a dependable phone Acer aspire 5920 batterythat allows us to make clear calls, easily access our contacts and call, text or email them, than plump for a really fancy gadget on which calling and connectivity take a back seat.

Similarly, an impressively large or bright screen may not be the best choice if you're unlikely to be able to give your smartphone daily mains-power sustenance. These multimedia showcases require an awful lot of power, despite what smartphone chip makers say. And while you may occasionally want to kick back and catch up on the latest episode of Spooks on the Android version of the BBC iPlayer, that shiny 4in touchscreen needs powering every moment that the device is switched on and in active use, even if you're just having a chat via text or jotting down a note for later.

In general, a 600MHz or faster processor, expandable storage, a capacitive touchscreen with or without a separate slide-out keypad and 512MB of RAM will be your basic hardware requirements. A 3.5in screen with a WVGA resolution of 800x480 pixels should suffice. Check the actual pixel resolution rather than the screen size VGA resolution on a large 3.8in-plus display will not be crisp, and ma y look blocky. It's worth visiting your local phone shop and comparing screen for screen there's a big variation in quality.

A touchscreen with a zoom in/out on-screen slider is a given, but multitouch gives you more navigation control and will drain the battery faster, too. If you're torn between two similar handsets, the one with the higher mAh battery rating will usually provide more power, so should last longer. However, some smartphone makers do a better job than others of battery management. On Android phones the device settings can be adjusted as you please.

Look for 802.11n Wi-Fi; 3G is useful only if you live in an area where there's solid coverage consult maps for your area at the respective network operator's website. There are also now defined data?usage limits in place for most 3G contracts, so be mindful of this when choosing your contract and deciding whether 3G is for you.

Most Android 2.1 phones come with 5Mp cameras or better, and some can take better video than others. A VGA?resolution video mode is fine for conducting web chats, but it won't bear muster on even a laptop Toshiba pa3594u-1brs batteryscreen. If you're likely to want to do more than watch your footage on your smartphone or in a browser window on YouTube, choose a handset that offers 720p (HD) video capture. Some offer 1080p (full-HD) video, but this remains a luxury feature.

Google Android: Plain or fancy?

As we briefly mentioned earlier one of Android's advantages is that the operating system can be skinned'. This means that handset manufacturers can not only change the overall look of icons, but also decide which apps will appear on the home screens. They can also change how many home screens are on offer an unskinned version of Android has five, whereas HTC increases this to seven.

The Taiwanese company has one of the most highly regarded third-party skins in its HTC Sense. This includes a popular weather widget that can provide the temperature and a weather outlook for the home screen. This includes animations that, while they don't actually add to the information content, do add to the wow factor.

By comparison, the weather widget that's provided on the Google Nexus S is a fairly dull and staid affair, though it does display news headlines.

Google Android: Market matters

This brings us on to one of Android's main attractions. If you don't like a particular app or widget, you can get hold of another from the Android Market.

This is Google's equivalent to the iTunes store and is packed full of apps. There is, however, an important point that you need to bear in mind. While the Android Market comes pre-installed on all smartphones, it isn't available on every tablet, the Advent Vega cannot access the Market, for instance. You, therefore, need to double-check with the retailer before you purchase a Google Android Tablet.

Another point to remember is that early versions of Android were designed for use on smartphones and not for devices with larger screens. This means that tablet owners won't be able to download some apps. However, with the release of Google Android 3.0 'Honeycomb', which was designed specifically for tablets, there are a growing number of apps that can be used on tablets.

Google Android: All about friends

Any smartphone needs to be able to keep you in contact with your friends, and these days that means not just by voice and text, but also by using things such as mobile email and social networking. Your Android device will have mobile email capability built in, and you'll be able to use this and any social networking apps either with a SIM or Wi-Fi to get regular updates.

Setting up mobile email is easy. Gmail is handled separately from other email, and after you've entered your address and password, your Gmail account will automatically sync with your Android device.

Both personal POP and IMAP email and Microsoft Exchange (work based) email is also supported and you can set up multiple accounts. You may need some login information (SMTP and POP servers for personal email), but that's easily obtained from your email address provider if you don't have it to hand.

Your Android device may come with social networking apps, such as Twitter and Facebook, built in. You can also put widgets, such as TweetDeck, on a home screen to help you stay in touch.
Google Android: Photography

Back in the old days when phones hp dv6000 battery weren't as smart as they are now, photography was an important aspect of mobile phones, with the ability to take a snap and send an MMS a key feature of handsets. That remains the case, but Android smartphones often now provide a 5Mp camera, some even have 8Mp on offer, and 720p video is increasingly available. With these improvements come the ability to share photos wirelessly via DLNA, upload direct to services lick Facebook, Picasa, Flickr and YouTube, attach photos to email and, of course to edit on the device before you do any of those things.

The big screens of smartphones and tablets lend themselves to slideshows, so that they are a good place to store and view photos you have snapped.
Google Anbdroid: GPS and navigation

Something that's a strong feature of smartphones is GPS. It's not so widespread in tablets, but it is in some, for example the Samsung Galaxy Tab. This lets you use location information in apps such as Google Maps for navigations. And there are more alternatives too.
Google Android: Apps galore

We've mentioned apps and they are a key feature of Google Android. With the caveat already noted that you need to check out your chosen Android tablet to find out about its app support, we think that apps are a key reason for choosing an Android smartphone or tablet over the competition.

Other operating systems may have apps on offer, but Android benefits from literally thousands that are free, so you can experiment and find out what suits you best.

Relative to the Sony Ericsson X2, we pay more attention to the next paragraph - Sony Ericsson Smartphone X3 first using Android system smart phone in Sony Ericsson group. At times, we finally got similar official news, this high hardware configuration Smartphone will officially released in November this year.
According to unconfirmed reports, this Smartphone will have a tablet shape dominated by a 4-inch, 800-by-400-pixel touch screen. It will reportedly run the Android OS on a 1 GHz processor Snapdragon processor. Rather than use Google's standard user interface, Sony Ericsson has created a proprietary one for this device that emphasizes social networking (see here). One of the highlights of the X3 will apparently be its 8 megapixel camera with flash and support for VGA (640 x 480 pixels) video recording at 30 fps. This will offer face and smile detection, as well as image stabilization . It will allegedly be a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900) GSM phone with dual-band (900/2100) 3G: 10 Mbps HSDPA and 2 Mbps HSUPA. Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi g will also be included. In addition, it comes with built in music player. This music player is expected to be simple to use and manage. The music files can be traced according to the name of the song, album, artist or genre. As no proper information is available on the equalizer, we have to wait and watch what the sound control feature would be like. The music player is capable of playing music files based on MP3, AAC and e-AAC+ formats. Music can be enjoyed with wireless stereo Bluetooth also.

Samsung Galaxy I7500
Samsung's new i7500 Galaxy makes it the first manufacturer after HTC to enter the Android game and it does so with a fairly feature-rich phone. The Samsung i7500 fuselage, using only 11.9 millimeters thickness of design, equipped with a straight HVGA 3.2-inch 480 x 320 level of resolution touchscreen, built-in 500 pixel camera support autofocus, equipped with LED flashlight and using the high MSM7200A CPU, 8G memory.
The Samsung i7500 interface is pretty much the standard Android 1.5 OS platform, with very little in the way of customization. It equipped with 350 mm stereo headphone jacks, battery capacity for 1500mAh, support the global positioning system (GPS), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and all services, including Google search, Google maps, Gmail, Google calendar, YouTube and integrated GPS function of Google Talk. The video player on the Samsung i7500 Galaxy is of decent quality, while not bringing extra functionality (much like the music p layer). Videos are organized the same way as pictures in the gallery, and the default view makes it hard to search for the video you're looking for. However, there's also a dedicated video viewer as well, with the videos listed by name. It support with video format: MPEG4, h. 263, h.264 and audio formats: MP3, WMV, AAC, AAC +, e AAC +, WMA, RA.

Motorola DROID
As time approaches, the Driod on the operators of Verizon Wireless official web page will be officially released in the near future. But recently, it was announced that Motorola Sholes will launch with the newest Android2.0 system, for this machine attracting more attention.
The screen on the DROID is a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen -- a full glass display with a WVGA resolution clocking in at a handsome 480 x 854 full QWERTY keyboard. The DROID will be launched by the introduction of dedicated, support and 1XEV CDMA2000 1X CDMA network - A blinding Rev, this also makes this phone become the first CD MA mobile phone of carrying Android system. And it supports A-GPS navigation, Wi-Fi, USB2.0, E-mail, HTML web browsing and send out Google services, etc. Meanwhile This phone will be equipped with 3.5 millimeter earphone interface and stereo headset function, packing a 550MHz OMAP3 CPU, dedicated graphics processor, 512MB of ROM, 256 of RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, a digital compass, and accelerometer. Another, Motorola has smartly outfitted the DROID with a 5 megapixel camera coupled with an LED flash. Video, on the other hand, was somewhat of a pleasant surprise. The DROID is capable of shooting at a 720 x 480 resolution, will support AMR-NB/WB, MP3, PCM/WAV, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA and mpeg-4, H263 H264, video files, WMV formats.

How To Install APK Files On An Android Phone

A Guide To Installing APK Apps On Your Google Android Phone

Because the Android operating system is a relative newcomer to the mobile phone market, a strong and cohesive Android Internet support community appears to be lacking. Without an adequate Android support system in place, many Android users are left in the dark when it comes to many tricky tasks, like installing third party applications to their Android mobile phones. In order to install third party applications to your Android phone, you need to install APK, or Android Package, files. In this article, we will cover the two ways you can install APK files to your Android phone and show you how to take advantage of the wide variety of third party Android applications currently available.

Installing Applications Through the Android Market

The Android Market is essentially Android's answer to Apple's iPhone App Store. As of September 2009, the Android Market already offered well over 10,000 applications, and this number has only continued to grow. In addition to the applications the Android Market offers, you can also use it to install other downloaded third party applications.

Copy the APK file to your Android's memory card and insert the card into your phone. Download and install the Apps Installer application from the Android Market Once installed, the Apps Installer will display the APK files on the memory card. Click and install your APK files. Installing Applications With Android SDK

It is possible to install APK files without utilizing the Android Market, although the process is more difficult and complex. To avoid the Android Market, you need to use Android SDK.

Download and install the Google Android SDK program and the Android USB drivers. The download links are as follows:http://code.google.com/android/intro/installing.html http://dl.google.com/android/android_usb_windows.zip You need to modify your Android's settings to allow the installation of applications from other sources. Under "Settings," select "Application Settings" and then enable "Unknown Sources." Also under "Settings," select "SD Card" and "Phone Storage," and finally enable "Disable Use for USB Storage" This last step is easy. Open Command Prompt and type the following: adb install <1>/<2>.apk However, when you type the command, replace <1> with the path to your APK file and replace <2> with the name of the APK file. You're done! Your application is now ready for your use and enjoyment.

Top 15 Best Google Android Apps for Newbies

Written by Quality Battery Supplier: batteries-company.com on 03 August 2011

If you just nabbed a new Android smartphone or tablet, or are coveting one, which apps should you download immediately? Check out these 15 picks.

Android Apps to Grab

One of the best things about Google's Android mobile OS is the vast collection of crafty developers constantly working away on new mobile applications for Android phones and tablets. In other words, Android is all about the software. And there's certainly no shortage of Android apps.

As such, navigating Google's Android Market can be intimidating for new or beginner users, to say the least. So we handpicked 15 free Android apps that every Google phone or tablet owner, whether you're a newbie or power-user, could benefit from installing.

Keep moving for details and download links. (Note: The following apps were tested on a Motorola Atrix 4G running Android v2.2.1, but most should run on all new Android devices.)

Pandora Radio for Android

A variety of cool, free Internet radio applications exist for the Android platform, but none offer the same quality music catalogue and customization options as the free Pandora for Android app. Pandora is easy to setup and use: Create and account, log in, simply pick an artist or band you like and the application creates a custom "station" based around that artist, with similar tunes, selected by other like-minded listeners.

Twitter for Android

Any and all Twitter users with Android devices should download the most popular Twitter app on the Market: the official Twitter for Android app. The software boasts an intuitive and visually appealing interface. And though more advanced, feature-packed apps exist-like Plume for example-Twitter for Android provides all the basic Twitter functionality you'll need for free, with no ads.

Is Android dictating the terms in Smartphone arena?

Competition in the smartphone market is currently running like a rat-race. The 'runners' who ran it first are not always in the front league. Take Google's Android for example. The popular operating platform is certainly being chosen as the most powerful mobile OS by smartphone makers all over the world. It is observed that Google's two year old baby, Android has been consistently pulling the attention of all the handset makers, while the hero off late, Microsoft Windows Mobile OS is losing the smartphone race.

Android has revolutionized the tech industry with a whooping market share in both national and international economy. Recent reports also claimed that one of every three smartphones sold at retail stores worldwide, is equipped with Android. If we compare the last three quarters, Android has just outpaced other IT honchos who have also tried their hands on Operating mechanisms like Apple, Nokia, Samsung Electronics, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, HTC, an d LG etc.

Since its inception, Google has seized around 50 per cent of the global smartphone market by unveiling its various Android versions like 2.0 (Eclair), 2.1 (clair, 2.2 (Froyo), 2.3 (Gingerbread), 3.0 (Honeycomb), 3.1 (Honeycomb), 3.2 (Honeycomb), and 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). However, the Ice Cream Sandwich is yet to release.
If we evaluate it geographically, then Android powered devices have gained maximum momentum in Asia- Pacific countries. For instance, countries like South Korea and Taiwan contribute 85 per cent and 71 per cent market share respectively towards the sale of this platform.

The closest contender of Android is Apple's iOS with 19 per cent of the market share followed by the Finnish giant's Nokia's Symbian operating system platform. Even, BlackBerry OS is experiencing major loss because of its aging handsets. RIM holds mere 12 per cent market share, down from 33 per cent a year ago.

Microsoft stands at the bottom of the list with just 1 per cent of the share. It shipped just 1.5 million phones in second quarter despite its hundred million marketing campaign for its refreshed mobile OS, Windows Phone 7.

Vital reason for the increasing Android popularity may be the lower price or user friendliness of Android powered dev ices. Android gadgets are economical, yet feature rich. Moreover, Android has a large community of developers writing applications ("apps") that extend the functionality of the devices. Presently, there are more than 250,000 apps available for Android devices.

Not only in smartphone realm, it is expected that Android will also escort tablet industry. Presently, Apple holds about 75% share in tablet market, but the researchers claims that Apple's monopoly in tablet market will soon see a huge plunge and will end up at a mere 39% and Android will outpace Apple's remarkable iPad by 2016.
